Visually stunning, mesmerizing even. However, halfway into the movie I sense the plot doesn't quite know what do with itself and resorts to arbitrary events to tie it all off.
Breathtaking and often so creative drawings from our masters of Celtic animation. It's lovely just looking at the classically painted autumn forest, the earthy color palette, the animals, a feast for the eyes and the soul.
chunkylefunga does have a point though that the plot could be more original; our antagonist here also was really just one-dimensionally evil. As this film doesn't aim at little kids (rather 11 than 6), grant us more ambiguity, please!
Still a fantastic experience for lovers of animation, brought to you from the guys that come closest to being "Europe's Ghibli".
Beautiful, lyrical and allegorical for acceptance of outsider differences, civil war, corruption of power, family, and many more things. The way the animation fuses hand drawn with CG and uses the multi frame approach is brilliant. Highly recommended.

Beautiful animation but ultimately dull and cliché storyline. It really should have been a short format animation. As it stands it's just a watered down one-page plot with one dimensional characters and pointless repetitive dialog that doesn't come up to the level of the stunning animation and visuals.Cynicus Rex
