Love the book, but the narrative of the film ends up lost because of the horrible screenwriting.

Watching Oliver Reed is a bit like watching John Belushi: You can't really tell where the actor ends and the dissipation that destroys them begins.

Overly talky movie with decent photography and some bizarre ideas about love and sex.
