For starters, I've never seen either of the other xXx movies, and I really don't like Vin Diesel's acting, or Ice Cube's for that matter. So naturally, I went into this movie knowing I was going to hate it, but surprisingly I didn't. Sure some of the acting is terrible, and some of the one-liners are super cheesy, but the action is on point, and the style of the movie works really well. By all means, it isn't great, but it is better than what you'd exXxpect.

Big fan of the first but this is real bad. Awful dialogue that really takes you out of the movie. It's a shame, given the theater had maybe 10 people in it on opening night, it's probably a guarantee that the franchise is dead when it could have potential with the right people behind it.

The dialogue is total garbage. Every line is more painful than the last, especially the women, has this writer ever talked to a woman? Yet it never fully crosses over into good-bad dialogue territory.

However the movie leaves no stone unturned for any stunt, it delivers on every promise there. The xXx team actors have a lot of good screen presence (Donnie Yen, Ruby Rose), it's a shame they weren't given things to say.

When xXx originally came out, it was touted as the 90s XTREME version of James Bond. If so, then xXx: The Return of Xander Cage is one of the sillier Moore or Brosnan outings, stunts, chases and fights barely connected by plot tissue, but a tone that allows by never taking itself too seriously. I'd even say it was pretty amusing at times. Post-Fast and Furious, Vin Diesel makes sure this is now ABOUT FAMILY, and so it may be more proper to say it's Mission: Impossible XTREME, with various characters coming in to help Xander Cage as part of the xXx "program". There's added value to putting Donnie Yen and Tony Jaa in it as antagonists as well. So what's the story? Some runaround trying to get one's hands on a MacGuffin. It really doesn't matter. And you'll have likely forgotten it the next day.

I saw this movie just to see Kris Wu. I enjoyed it thanks to him and a hilarious Nina Dobrev. The film has very well done special effects, but the plot and script -as always- were a bunch of cr*p.
