Tedious and overly dramatic.

Surprisingly, far from finding this movie boring, I felt drawn in by vastness of the scenery and the dreariness of it. I also felt the main characters anxiousness and desperation. The Turk and his "pep talk", although earnestly delivered and thought provoking, is the same kind of talk anyone who is contemplating suicide or is depressed gets from others. Sometimes, it can help heal, but other times, it is cruelly lacking in understanding of the depressed mind. Still, a very impactful movie.

A nice little noir. It has it's faults and some of the acting is a little off but not enough to make it unwatchable.

Desi Arnaz is HOT in this. I can see why Lucille Ball fell in love with him. That finale was wild and hot!

Enthralling moral dilemma in the first hour and a decidedly great detective story in the second hour. One of the best from Kurosawa.

A rather depressing, if not realistic, look at how life goes on even if you don't want it to. You either join the party or sit by yourself on the sidelines. I can't believe this one is not on a single official list. I was in tears.

"Killer", Howard Phillips, tries hard to get that Bogart sneer to his face throughout the entire movie. Instead of being enduring, it just looks like he has a mouth deformity.

I have to agree that there were plot holes and some bad plot directions. However, it still stands as a great "who done it" in my book. That Amy lady was just plain sick! Ben Affleck gets better and better every time I see one of his movies. It's wonderful to see him progress.

I really love Gilbert Roland, even in this silly farce. His dubbed singing just made him more adorable here.

As for Jane Russell, I've heard numerous times that she was actually a very devote Christian during her movie-making days. Well, heck, you can't prove it to me especially after seeing this. Whew!

Really? This is so highly regarded? I thought the basic premise was ill conceived and the dialog was lacking. Sure, it was pretty to look at, but man, was this ever boring.

Actually, it's not all that bad of a movie. I suppose you have to be Italian to understand the emotions and intricacies of this kind of family. Admittedly, the acting is a little stiff but not distractingly so.
