A brilliant intro sequence is followed by some outlandishly ridiculous-looking firemen. They fail miserably at embodying a scary and mind-numbing society devoid of text, keeping its people docile with sports, tv, drugs, and brute force.
Unfortunately there is very little suspension of disbelief, the story is erratic and rhapsodic, behaviour irrational and unbelievable.
Fascinating at times, but mostly clumsy and ridiculous – not in the book.
Three old friends – pathetic casanova, mingy hypochondriac, and recent divorcee – go for a short trip together and of shame, lies, missunnsamhet
Dry, bleak, embarrassing comedy about the misery of failure, age, and disease. More gloomy and depressing than funny. Not in my book of bitter introspection.
Pregnancy, love, circumstances. The snazzy fifties-styled animated intro is followed by something reasonably contemporary, if not particularly realistic. There's even a little edge towards the end, though not nearly enough for the book.

»Your heart is completely worn out«The self-consuming genius. The power of music. The biblical allusions.
Strong on life force, conflict, engagement, and emotion. Unfortunately, a lot of all this feels embarrassing, like some clumsy parody.
Maybe in my book after all.
