A strange episode, not sure what the writers were trying to do with it - make a feminist statement, add some 'breaking the fourth wall' in-jokes, add multiple villains. Maybe the challenge they set themselves was admirable, but the challenge for me was sitting through it. A mess, considering the very high standard of previous episodes.

I feel this movie did a good job of showing that the cliches are not always offered to us, which is why I liked it.

Another formulaic blood fest like DJANGO. Someone needs to tell Quentin he isn't a great writer.

I had heard good things about this, but after seeing it I can't believe how much I enjoyed it. I was very happy to hear about the Oscar nomination for Sly. Funny - I thought they'd gone out on a high with ROCKY BALBOA but CREED topped that fine effort. Will this be the end for the character now? Time will tell.

A good movie. If there was something different about the story (that is, if there was less time shown about the dangers of being homeless) then I'm sure the Academy would have nominated Robert De Niro. It seems society still doesn't want to accept mental health issues on screen unless they're glamorised in some way.

I liked the pace and the acting. In a way, It's a great movie for fans of Sam Peckinpah - reflective and not shy about counting the cost of people's actions (though this point is not laboured over).

I found the movie by chance and couldn't believe that people would spend so much on their hair, where the extra hair came from and how much money was caught up in the industry itself. Illuminating.

Very enjoyable, for reasons that some would find unacceptable. I laughed at loud with astonishment, which I haven't done often enough when it comes to recent movies. I loved it.

Really good, though as a drummer myself, I wished the editing of the playing sections had been better. That is nit picking, though.

I liked the way it dealt with complex issues, as well as noting Joseph trying on his Director's hat. Of course, it's hard to find time to add depth to Julianne's character, but it all rang true. The main character goes to confession a lot, but it's only with Julianne's character that he makes meaningful confessions despite himself.

The movie had a nice sense of the main characters' depression and almost mental breakdown about it, which I felt would have been close to the truth.

We need movies like this due to different demographics and the fact that we get to see great ensemble work. It's not perfect, but it was patchily entertaining.

Wow. I was not prepared for this movie. It defied so many expectations. No wonder Pierce Brosnan earned a Golden Globe nomination - we are unlikely to see him in a role like this again. I'm not giving anything away, just watch the film and enjoy something different.

Great to see Mark going toe to toe with Russell Crowe, who has intensity on screen when he wants it. Otherwise, nothing special. See CHINATOWN for a better version of a similar plot.

Don't forget this is based on a UK mini series. Check that out, as it is much better.

DO NOT WATCH if depressed. Great story with effective acting. An unfamiliar sort of approach to a whistleblower story. Very powerful.

Delivered what the fans want and I agree with others about the ending - very well done.

Great movie..so sad that for all the movies that get made in Australia each year, only a small amount seem to be worthwhile. Most of the good actors go to Hollywood and it's hard to get them to return - luckily a few did for this one.

A nice departure for the main actors and the director. I don't know if I'll be watching it often. I would love to see the look on the faces of those who go in expecting the leads to play their usual cliches !

Enjoyable, not as cruel as some of his earlier films.

Like so many films nowadays, one gets the feeling that they get good secondary actors in, only to cut most of their scenes out. I love the original and this wasn't bad really. Let's face it, it would be very hard to get near the tone of the original - drama, comedy, satire and savage violence. The TV commentator was there for a reason, but was misjudged tonally - he didn't need to be the last person the viewer hears.

Very good movie, with Mel looking as he should look for the character. He can actually act, which is what I always enjoyed.
