As I started watching it, I had to look at the back of the book because it sounded familiar. I had read the book "Before I Die" a few years ago - the book this movie is based off of and didn't realize it had been turned into a movie.
If you like the movie The Fault in Our Stars, and others that deal with young death, medical issues and the family emotions/dram related, you will enjoy this movie.
The only issue I have with this is the poor showing of the different types of women's bodies. Not one true overweight woman was shown.
All bodies are beautiful, but it seems even in a documentary on all women's breasts, the shunning of overweight/obesity in women still is even more of a battle.
I thought it was rather fun. Had some good laugh out loud chuckles, and the two main females had a fun energy to them.
And it's about time they showed women in movies without having to get naked. The one scene they had close was done smartly, and not oversexed like norm. They showed enough cleavage for sexy teasing throughout the entire movie anyway without having to be the 'Hollywood standard' nowadays of being blatantly naked and raunchy.
I have been working hard at going through the ALL movie list to check what movies I have watched (Sadly only on the L's).
Why is there no option to just look for U.S. titles when the order is A-Z already? Or a specific countries' titles, period.
People could weed through the majority of them if there was this option as it seems many, many titles are stated in other languages. From the nearly 600,000 movies you have in your system, it would be a HUGE help to narrow down when working on records.
Watching this as someone who has NOT read the book, I thought it made for a decent film.
I watch ALOT of movies and will fast forward when I'm bored or if something gets too ridiculous or cliched. I did not skip this at all.
Going into watching it, I just knew it held to deal with a girl and the whole Nazi takeover thing. I had no exact details. (As a movie buff, I will tend to pop something in without needing to know what it is about).
So I can understand for those who read the book how disappointing the film could be (a friend of mine let me know how disappointed she was in it) - but let's be honest, rarely is a film as good or even better than the book, so you shouldn't be all that surprised.
It's about time Disney stepped into the new world. A woman who doesn't depend on a man to come in and save the day. Also, Anna stood up for herself and got to sock the bad guy! Was a nice change of pace to see women stand up for themselves!
I found this one actually scarier than the other 2. It got into the story, it seemed, a lot quicker than the previous ones. If you only watch 1 of them, choose this one!!
Can't they make anything without swearing every 20 seconds anymore???? Bring back the time when they actually had the rating system working for people. When will people realize you don't need to swear to make a decent movie. And movies that do overly do it are obviously trying to cover the fact they aren't worth even a quarter of the budget they take to make.
This movie was MUCH better than it's look Kutcher look alike. Funnier, better plot, better chemistry between the characters. All around just a great time and some very laugh out loud moments.
Wow... so I know this is considered a 'classic', but my god, what is with Marilyn's voice?? I don't know if this was her real voice, but as a grown women, that baby voice crap should have been outgrown already. And what a way to stereo type.
Sidenote: Watching Marilyn move her face is VERY distracting. Not in a good way. She does really weird facial expressions.
It's women giving into the peer pressure of men, and yet it's ok.. wth And then a random 'accident' happens and she lies about what happens. Again... wth.
Wow, how original that they turn witch hunts into the girl being a witch, but oh wait, no she's really possessed by a demon. Just yet another Hollywood stereotyped production.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this movie. I can't mark it as a fave, because it's not necessarily the type of movie you would watch repeatedly, but the history and knowledge that came from it was very intriguing, and surprisingly enjoyable.
I went into thinking I was going to be bored, but it really kept my interest, which is saying something.

Definitely not worth the hype.Big whoop it was a Scorses. The cast did a nice job, but overall it was too long, and just another flick. Not worth 3 hours of my time.
