I'm very surprised that the formal concept worked so well for me. Not exactly a good film and getting worse near the end, but it had my attention for quite an hour.
Haha, you rarely encounter a movie with a score of less than 10 on Metacritic - this got 1! It's also in IMDb's Bottom 100 as of now. If the current FIFA investigations didn't make you curious, this should.
Continues the recent evolution of Don Hertzfeldt without dropping his trademarks. Again, this is funny, melancholic, absurd, silly and deep - again, it's as fantastic as a short gets.
Amusing, fast-paced short which is made quite ambitiously and still from the heart.
If you want self-aware trash, you might very well prefer these 30 minutes of nonsense to high-budgeted, ironic trash features like Iron Sky, Zombeavers or recent Asylum "hits".
Surprisingly high image quality of the BluRay. For a 1932 horror film, this has aged rather well. See it for Karloff's eyes and his mummified make-up in the beginning.
The biggest problem with the film is not that it doesn't feature Michael Myers or hasn't got anything to do with the Halloween franchise, but rather that it's a shitty movie which is neither scary, thrilling, entertaining or anything. Hard to the say what's more ridiculous: our charmless protagonist, the goofy plot or that annoything jingle. Cinematography, music and that Carpenter vibe weren't bad, though.
How this is getting some kind of positive cult reexamination is mysterious to me.
Incredibly eerie atmosphere, especially in the first third of the movie, and a fantastic lead really make this stand out in the "haunted house"/ghost genre.

Is something wrong with me if this is the first Rob Reiner film I really liked? Or maybe I just have reached the right age ..Showing items 751 – 775 of 1090
