A good little film which I had expected to be more Hallmarky. The LGBT storyline was a nice change and young Liv Hewson is fantastic - I hope she gets tonnes and tonnes more work!
An odd one. I am not quite sure of its purpose, for lack of a more eloquent way to put it. I (rightly, it appears) assumed it had been adapted from a play because it really shows. It is available on YouTube, so I hope others have a go and get more out of it than I did!
A nice and sweet little film. If it had been made in the UK, it is the sort that would be called 'Britain's funniest film of the Year', with a very The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Shirley Valentine feel.
My one-line review to a friend after seeing this was: 'At one point I laughed so hard, I was afraid I was going to wee myself.' A top review, if ever there were one. Hilarious and very weird film. Treat yourself and see it.
I may be biased towards Billy Wilder, but I felt this version was very convoluted in comparison to the 1957 film. It worked hard to hold my attention and keep me awake. I felt the same about the Beeb's adaptation last year of AND THEN THERE WERE NONE. Hey ho, maybe it's just me. Both are probably well-loved by people who aren't familiar with previous adaptations.
I tend to watch this each year - including only a couple of weeks ago - but saw it on the big screen for the first time on Christmas day. I am visiting Belgium, so saw it with the added bonus of both French and Dutch subtitles! It is still wonderful.
I saw this a few days ago for the first time in many, many years. I am visiting Belgium, so saw it with on the big screen on a very scratchy old print, with both French and Dutch subtitles! Very witty and lots of laugh-out-loud moments, although Susan is simply infernal with her seemingly-invincible gumption carries on until the moment she becomes a stereotypical whiny/dim/clingy female (yuck). Great fun, nonetheless.
That's three films this week where I am the first person to check them! Thanks, LatestTV. That said, this one was hard work and didn't capture/keep my attention at all. Maybe one for a lazy Sunday morning.
I love being the first person to check a film! I hadn't realised until it was (quite obviously) nearing its end that it wasn't a feature-length picture. A fun little mystery.

A mostly-cringey THE UNTOUCHABLES part two; I still can't be sure if they were making a parody or trying to be serious.Movie comment on Hilda Crane
