Enjoyable, but a missed opportunity. It needed to be longer. The affectations of Jack come across badly, but they are reined in by the editing. Overall, a worthwhile film but not as in depth as it could have been. There's probably another film in the outtakes.
This is a four episode series about four archetypes in television since the 50's, which sees current TV shows (mostly cable shows) as another golden age of TV, with which I agree.
This film never quite figured out how to solve the tonal problems of showing something like people being shot (several times, on camera) followed by something funny happening. Doing something dramatic in a comedy is a strange combination that rarely works, though it does in AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON.
The less you know about this film the better. I only wish we made more films like this in Australia - ones where the talent involved goes overseas, sadly. It's powerful.
Very enjoyable. I do feel sorry for people who might be wanting more. At least they actually made the movie. It may not be up there with the Iron Man or first two X Men films, but it ain't far behind. It has Tommy Lee Jones in it - it can't be all bad.
Very solid , enjoyable and somehow believable without being too cliched. It is also good to see that Steve Carell does not have to make funny faces in every movie he is in and is developing as an actor. This one is up there with DAN IN REAL LIFE.
This is a 70's movie, set in the 70's - the poster above bears no resemblance to what Richard Burton looks like in the film. It is a good enough film with solid acting and you can get it from Amazon in the UK. Not as good as Get Carter, but on the way there.

Very good, suspenseful, dramatic. Took me on a worthwhile emotional journey. I'm glad Brad hasn't had a facelift - the acting and emotions mean more.Movie comment on The Hangover Part III

Way too dark, this used the name of a much better film to get people into cinemas. Sometimes it's best to stop at two films.Movie comment on It Might Get Loud

I love westerns. Even if I had not known it was a remake, I would've wanted to see it for the actors alone. I was not disappointed.Movie comment on Paul
