I have a soft spot for this film. A lot of great music and a first really good look at the “Mary Blair” color style that came to define the look of the animated Disney films through the end of the 1950s.

Ending the cycle of Disney films unhampered by the World War II with this final masterpiece. It would be another eight years before Disney had the resources to try something at the level of craft on display here. To be completely honest though, I don’t think the Disney company would ever reach the heights of these first five animated features ever again.

Just beautiful. A simply told film with a short running time but is so masterful in its telling. I love this movie wholeheartedly, from the depths of my being. I am always reminded of the scene in 1941 where Robert Stack is watching this film with tears running down his face. I always feel the same way.

A fascinating early look at the Disney studios and a not all together truthful look at the production of cartoons. It has more in common with the Disneyland TV show of the 50s than the other Disney features of the time.

Look closely and you will see miniatures of characters from Peter Pan on display which would not be made into a feature film for another 12 years.

One of Walt Disney’s most ambitious projects and it paid off in my opinion. It won’t be loved by all, but to those it speaks to will love it. Whenever I watch it, I’m fascinated by a certain sequence and turned off by another, but my opinion will change on the next viewing depending on my mood. Regardless, I feel this is one of Disney’s greatest triumphs in filmmaking and will always cherish it.

Another early masterpiece by Disney’s team. There are so many classic moments in this film and some really gorgeous animation. Some wonderful songs as well.

A true masterpiece. The music is perfect and helps each scene flow into the next so effortlessly. The entire sequence with “someday my prince will come” into “i’m wishing” into “one song” is so perfect. There is a reason many of these songs have become jazz standards in the years after the films release. This will probably remain one of favorite Disney films.

Wanted to check this but could only find Ingmar Bergman’s segment so I didn’t.

Not just the worst Bergman film I have seen, but one of the worst films I have seen, period.

Loved spending some time with old friends. I just wish it was an entire season like we got with Twin Peaks.

The series is decent but there must’ve been a severe budget cut between season one and two. The first season seemed to be fuller and more complex. Unfortunately the second season could not live up to this first season and seemed to be spinning its wheels to pad at the time.

A sweet and entertaining and probably totally forgotten gem. I watched it because Ingmar Bergman was involved in its production and I am glad I did. It’s completely unlike anything else I’ve seen by him.

I saw this for the first time at age 35 so I have no childhood nostalgia for it and I really didn’t enjoy it. A lot of the costumes are borderline disturbing and i just didn’t see what was supposed to be special about laurel and hardy, although I realize they have films that are more celebrated than this one. Most of the time I was just hoping it would end.

I ended up really liking this one. I love how dirty and grimy everything looks throughout the entire film.

According to IMDB, this film is considered lost. That was written in 2003 though. I am unsure of any new developments in its status.

It seems like the dialogue was just being made up as the film went along, especially Duvall's.

I went in expecting a retread of Rosemary's Baby, because that is what it seemed like in the trailers, but I was pleased that it ended up being so different. Not everyone will like this, but I loved it. It's a true original in my opinion, or at least I've never seen anything quite like it. I've seen some describe it as a psychological horror, but I think that is inaccurate. It is more of a mystery/drama or even a very black comedy, with small elements of psychological horror.

I watched the Francis Ford Coppola version and it was pretty dull. The original version would have to be better.

I'm only two seasons in so far and I almost decided to stop after the first because it was so crazy, I had trouble relating to any of the characters. I'm really glad I tried the first episode of season 2 because I was hooked from there. It was still pretty trashy TV but something about it made me really enjoy it. It was a great story and I am now looking forward to the next season.

edit: After watching all the seasons, it has never really reached the heights of season 2. Each season since has been interesting for a few episodes and then fizzled and is almost never actually scary.

I thought the film was pretty good until the last half of the credits started playing an industrial Marilyn Manson track. What the hell? Totally out of place. Luckily it didn't occur during the actual movie.
