There's a bunch of mistakes on the list, I'll post what I've found in a couple of minutes when I finish going through it. Thanks for the update though.

Yes, ¡Que viva Mexico! should link to the 1979 version since that's the one on all the other lists referencing it and probably the version any critic referencing it refers to. The 1932 entry on Imdb is explicitly a reference link for unreleased raw footage and not a cut of the film.

I for one don't really blame people for importing them, but it still bothers me the way they show up in the search results and it would be nice if we could weed them out. All this importing also brings to light issues with the search function. Searches with a lot of results are tedious to sort through. This was mitigated before by the limited database, but is starting to become more apparent now.

I don't expect these issues to be solved in a day or anything, and I trust they'll be sorted out by the icheckmovies guys in due time.

You have to click the middle tab first, the one that says * By IMDb MyMovies list URL
I'm sure many of them are among the 12834 currently in the queue

I agree that Video games shouldn't be imported. I'd agree with TV series and episodes too, but there's some stuff Imdb classifies as series episodes which are really TV movies, so I'm not as bothered.

DeathShrike, I think the reason some were imported automatically is that they've already been added by others. The ones that haven't don't get imported and you have to add them yourself. just put your MyMovies list url in the appropriate tab in Add new movies and I assume it should work.

Seems this has been on youtube for a year and none of us noticed. It's in six parts below, I'm 99% sure of the order, the only doubt is the 4th and 5th.

It's in Polish, which I don't understand, but there's no narrative and the spirit of the work comes through pretty clear.

I agree with everything Knaldskalle said in those last two posts. Nominee lists are interesting but, even if some nominees are better than the winners and some winners are unworthy, are generally unwieldy and of very variable quality.

Also when you say “SIGHT & SOUND POLLS” (1952-2002) does that mean each poll separately? If so, is there a source you can point me to for the non 2002 polls, because that's the only one I've been able to find.

That's not quite true about the 10s list. There's a lot of downvoting going on there. Used to be that way for the 20s list too, but it seems Imdb's cleaned it up.

I'm a little disappointed by the paid site as well but at least we'll still have the current functionality and I'm curious to see what things you guys have in store.

the ankle biters that continue to yip-yip-yip on this comment board are making it difficult for any of us to use this very public board to provide our help and suggestions to Erik and Piet to fulfill their request to help identify cheaters.

Should this really be done on a public board anyway? You yourself said you've offered suggestions but won't share them publicly for fear of letting cheaters know. What should we be discussing besides how we feel about cheaters? Any concrete suggestions or denouncing of specifically suspected cheaters should be done privately.

All of this is their right to do because it is their website after all, so I sit in astonishment at people who ask to join and use their site – but then go on to attack Erik & Piet’s established purpose of the site, their policy,

I just reread all the comments and I don't see anyone deriding Erik and Piet for doing this or attacking them the site or the policy. Some people have expressed the opinion that they've learned to live with it and ignore it, but that doesn't equate to supporting the cheaters, it just means that as a user it doesn't seem there's much we can do besides not cheat ourselves. Getting upset and spending countless hours worrying about it isn't productive.

I also don't see what insulting other users achieves in this or any discussion.

But the suspicious movies are precisely the ones we don't know enough about to ask spoiler questions or anything else of that form.

I don't think there's any automatic way to recognize cheaters, you can have algorithms that flag some behaviour for further inspection and you can spot them by the way they complete certain lists but otherwise it's mostly a "know it when you see it" thing. I think tagging any individual movie or list as uncompletable is not a good idea since nearly everything is viewable in some way, even if it's resource intensive or the luck of being in a city that has a screening.

I'm glad you guys are on the lookout for it, but as a user I've long ago stopped worrying about it. Lists are a tool to broaden my movie watching, but not really an end goal in and of themselves. Other than occasional re-prioritizing when I get close to completion or something new pops up I don't think about where I rank on particular lists. It's nice to know where I rank, but the possibility that I could be a couple of places ahead without cheaters doesn't really affect what I've gotten out of the films I've seen.

In that case Blood of the Beasts and Permanent Vacation should be here, among others. There's a ton of noteworthy extras throughout the collection, sorting through them all would be a big task.

The 4 films that were added are Sumas y restas , El crimen del padre Amaro, Lugares comunes and Valentín. They're missing from the source linked below but in the original list if you got to the Cinema Tropical site.
