I did like the film. I think it is going to be one of those classics just for Sam Rockwell, who I hope makes a few more classics before he's through. He's one of those actors that does not have a high profile like Viggo, but who gets on with doing great work.

I really enjoyed it just from the visual and dramatic points of view, on which I felt it succeeded. I knew its origin, but wasn't and remain uninterested in that. Very different - similar to DUNE in that one can research into it if they like and rewatch it after they know more.

Really different setting and characters, all different backgrounds and it all unfolds so well. Great to see that Burt got some good roles near the end of his career, like this and in LOCAL HERO.

I think I saw it all coming, but I enjoyed it just the same. This movie shows how the Bourne films have really reinvented the cinematic language and that viewers are getting a bit tired of all that handheld stuff - it looks amateurish after a while.

I know they made some weird character movies in the 70's and I love Gene Hackman's work, but this wasn't enjoyable. There sure were lots of downer endings in the 70's - maybe too many.

Such a downer. Do not under any circumstances get into real estate as a career - show this to someone who is thinking of doing it. Make the world a better place and go without watching it. You'll hear and see nothing particularly interesting.

How crass - to make an epic action movie out of an event where people died (mass murder) and then to show that and draw it out. This is propaganda. Way too long.

Sometimes things should stop at two - like marriages, leg removals and Mummy films.

Great beginning, weak and unnecessary finish. A grab at artistic credibility for Adam - a failure.

If you recall a film mostly for the leading lady's assets but can't recall anything of the plot, I suppose that says something. At least it established Catherine.

This is the weak second film - we all know they're not going to win Oscars, but the setting wasn't Vegas, which meant it wasn't as much fun. The first and the third are the most entertaining.

The characters don't seem as interesting as those in his later films - perhaps it is too dark for my tastes. I prefer RUSHMORE.

Maybe Richard Gere was just looking for a paycheck to buy a new house here - it wasn't to add something great to his resume.

Ridley Scott tried to make another Gladiator type film, but this time the lead actor isn't any good. Think of a reason why you would want to watch (and rewatch) a film like that. That being said, cinematography is great and most of the other actors do very well.

Too depressing - believable, well acted by Burton before he took the easy road, but not much else.

This film says something about Australia and its landscape whilst being one of a kind, despite the sequels. The setting adds to the loneliness, desperation and displacement the characters feel. This viewer believes it - I am immersed in the world of this film.

I'm not sure what I like more - the weird cinematography, the solid acting, the setting of the piece (which adds so much to the atmosphere), the way subtitles are used or the fact that this is not just a revenge movie.

Funny, disturbing, logical - has some great visual moments that that I can't get out of my mind, such as Willem with the pantyhose over his head.

I will agree with anyone who thinks this was nothing special - not enough character moments in between arguing, running around, killing people and/or defusing bombs.

The main thing I recall about this film is a basketball. I assume the makers had other things in mind. One of the worst comedies I've ever seen - just joking, but that's how it makes me feel. Winning those Oscars went to Tom's head.

Tom may like to make movies in different settings but I'm afraid he is unbelievable in this. A waste of good scenery. Should've gotten Viggo Mortensen.

A good reason not to mke trilogies - see also Spiderman 3. If the director's good and did the first two, keep the director and wait till they're available. Don't get someone else.

Mid life crisis, fun, loss of self, loss of youth, loss of lust for life - all this is in SIDEWAYS. It may take another viewing to appreciate all the nuances in the acting. The second time may be better for some. I loved it and will continue to do so.

The main character in this negotiates his way through it as things are thrown at him. Makes me wish I could do the same. Don't forget the other one too - Support Your Local Gunfighter, which is just as good.
