The only movie I've ever seen about conscientious objectors that didn't end up compromising.

Shows up Prisney for how vacuous Fantasia is. This is full of real social/existential content. The live parts are a great parody of Italian social realism.

Wow! 7 whole movies about the War of 1812! One from E Germany, no less - which I could find that. I've only seen the first - I guess both the other buccaneer things are more or less remakes. There's also Old Ironsides (1926). And a 2011 documentary, The War of 1812. What we need is something from a Canadian perspective.

Thanks for this! I've long wondered why movies about the Revolutionary War were so thin on the ground.
I've recently been watching the TV series TURN: Washington's Spies (2014-17).

Annotated partial version explains that over half original footage is lost.

This one appears to use all the surviving footage - twice.

Apparently all that survives is Episodes 1 & 2 plus assorted clips from other episodes, outtakes, etc. Later episodes are lost.
