The visuals and the sound work was absolutely amazing! But everything else had me going "Yeah. And?" It was worth watching it for the creative camera work, the stunning effects and the capturing sound, but that's it. I recommend going to a theathre if I you don't I fear you'd get bored of the constant, too obvious "suspense".
This film is so incredibly meta my soul is on fire. Everything in this movie has in one way or another some kind of paralel to Nikolaj Arcel's life and it's pretty cool. But I feel like if you don't know what all the meta things are referencing to, if you don't care much for film making, I guess this movie would just be a bit dull.
I really liked it. You'll like it if you're prepared and in the mood for a slow and subtle movie. I can understand why some people might not enjoy this, though. You must be in a certain mindset and able to be entirely consumed by it, then it's brilliant.
I heard this was one of the worst movies of all time, so I was really looking forward to that, but it's not fantastically "The Room"-bad, it's just stupid, American teenage comedy-bad. I am severely disappointed.
I only fear two classic horror things: Zombies and clowns. This film had both, but still I sat through the entire thing. It was worth it. I really enjoyed it. Even though I had to pause it several times and just jump up and down because zombies stress me out so much. Funny and over all good characters and development didn't seem too obvious, even though we kind of saw it coming, if that makes sense.
It's kind of odd. I don't know if I got a weird version of this film or if it's actually like this, but it seems seriously obvious that they're using different types of cameras. Like one second everything has a vibrant colour, and then it cuts to hand held and all the colours and down toned and the quality isn't as good and then it cuts to a camera on a motorcycle and the quality is even worse, and then a cut back to the vibrant, good quality camera. It honestly seems very odd and it's rather distracting. I'm not even sure I want to watch the rest of this movie. The humour seems cheesy. But as I said, I haven't finished it yet, so don't listen to my opinion.
This film is absolutely horrible! It's cheesy and predictable, yeah. Of course, that's what these kind of films are. But I really appreciate animated films and children movies, I've spent the entire day watching them, and a lot of them are bad, but this is the worst of them still!
The humour used is literally nothing but bad puns. It's supposed to be a social comment of some sort, and do admit I'm not American, but I still understood every single stupid reference this movie had to offer.
A fun little detail like the interviewer is Bee Larry King, that's a cute idea but then the main character goes to point it out, as if the joke wasn't obvious enough! It's like that the entire movie. All the jokes are too obvious! But still I don't think children would appreciate and understand them. This is all the way though and to the core a bad movie for people of all ages.

As Roman Coppola was a co-writer on Moonrise kingdom and a co-writer and second unit director of The Darjeeling unlimited, I don't really think you can say he is "ripping off the style of Wes Anderson"
I can't believe I had never heard if this film anywhere, until I randomly stumbled upon it at midnight while going through the channels. It definitely deserves some recognition! Great storytelling, an exciting plot and good acting.
