Wild that this movie has no reviews yet?! This film is completely original and transfixing. If you watched it, I hope you were as moved as I was

Basically exactly what you’re expecting. A fun ride in fun places but no academy awards coming for this one

This film had all the pieces but the whole was less than the sum of those pieces, which to me always means poor directing.
This project would have thrived under Craigs Gillespie, slightly sharper editing, essentially montage the first 30 minutes, and a 30 minute shorter run time.

This was a great adaptation of not just Murakami’s story, but also his structure. The movie is very long, but it gives so much time for us as the audience to find ourselves in the story and gives us the space to react and think about the moments and relationships and conversations we are seeing, rather than just plotting along scene by scene. Quite meditative and inviting. Great film

Very beautiful cinematography and set design, but the story was pretty boring and didn’t hit its mark

Normally I pause a movie if I have to use the restaurant. This was the first movie I’ve watched where I did not need to do that

This movie has been getting some hate. But I enjoyed it. I didn’t LOVE it and it kind of couldn’t decide whether to be a Gattaca type of sci fi or a brainless thriller like that Chris Pratt JLaw space movie a few years ago.
But overall it was a good knock on the head metaphor for America the past few years, was basically a battle of fear/violence vs reason/compassion.
Overall a nice weeknight light sci fi movie better than most of the crap action sci fi movies these days

Decent movie, what makes it interesting is the unique environment and the two villians are fun and the sheriffs wife is a complete badass. But the fire as an antagonist could have been way better

I enjoyed that this film was shot/feels like a dry 1960s drama but infused with ideas and motifs from 80s+ movies. The contrast between the beautiful shots and the ugly events taking place is challenging to take in

Really great pacing & story. This is really 2 separate movies (the story of the bank robber & his girlfriend and the story of the police officer and his wife) that are overlapped throughout. How 2 strangers lives & stories collide.

This film is a lot more fulfilling with some pre-research into the Franco gov't, censorship restrictions, etc. While the film is fulfilling from a visuals & tranquil pacing perspective alone, the backstory that is not typically covered in US History lessons will give a lot of insight to the World these characters are living in

Critics and people have been pretty harsh on this film. It’s not perfect by any means, but I don’t think it’s a bad movie at all. It’s an every day person kind of movie for every day people. It does not fit the Academy best picture drama category, but it’s like the best On Cable movie you’ll watch. A good story, real characters going through real experiences. I enjoyed it, and I’ve seen A LOT of movies

Emotionally disconnected thriller. Hanks acting is great. Main reason to watch is that Hanks wrote the script. Extremely detail oriented dialogue. Overall, just ok.

Felt like a movie from 2008 that I should have forgot about by now. Hopefully will forget I watched it by 2032.

A well made and slightly enjoyable, albeit forgettable, movie for adults.

The story mike tells in this stand-up is a better narrative than 90% of movies these days. I was bored for the first hour (I dont have kids), but glad I watched it by the end. Very touching

Of all the movies I regret seeing in theaters, this one is up there for best...Not good, not horrible, a few nice moments...This movie would have been a great Netflix original or movie I watch at a trip to my grandmas...and I dont have a grandma

A lovely and and compassionate picture, and like the TV show, addresses and tries to simplify to a sense of understanding some very challenging topics. A good watch for anyone tired of super heroes, dark thrillers, etc and in need for a soul cleanser

Basically Superbad (made by the same team) but in 6th grade instead of 12th, and I absolutely loved it, despite thinking I wouldn't. Endearing, hilarious, raunchy. Highly recommended for anyone.

Really enjoyable movie about the transition of a man. Great study on greed, the circus of sensationalism journalism, and some really great shots here as well. Loved all the shots in the cave

Junkfood. Nothing interesting happens at all. They went for the "average man thrown into a situation way above his head," but we, as the audience, don't feel any sympathy/empathy/anything for these characters. Wasn't a comedy or a drama. I agree with other comment, Jonah Hill's laugh is the highlight.

The movie was a Western from the eyes of an optimistic teenager in love. In theory, sounds awesome. In practice, misaligned casting, poor character development, and honestly, I wish the director went even further with his auteurship. Some very cool shots for a relatively low budget though. Also some pretty bad ones. 3/5.
