This was at the back of a list of films to maybe watch. Surprisingly fun, my wife laughed a lot in the first half. Heard there was little female involvement, but it's a buddy movie and the antagonist was female add was the supporting cast. 5-6 noticeable CGI/green screen moments but the dialogue and plot worked.

I am back after a screening today....

The lip syncing/movement do not match the articulation in practically every shot.

Aside from this, the colour pallet and artistic detail, plus the humour was a big positive.

It was a kids orientated screening and a cancellation let me to attend. It was interesting seeing where they laughed and at what, and what led them to bounce in there seat with excitement in addition to what bored them (I was sat at the back as I needed to leave promptly after - location of exit). I indeed did find different areas humourous and vice versa (I hadn't appreciated this in e.g. (and specifically Pixar films at cinemas previously).

The story was fine and a liked a couple of elements to stop the plot being too predictable from start to finish (a few things stood out where they put extra effort to produce something that wasn't simply the quickest 'win').

(Lastly I liked the accurate historical references) 7/10 (just squeezes a 7 as I enjoyed it dispite the lip issues which are a big no no)

Jacki Weaver had the most obvious wig. spoiler excellently written, great accruing and score. I've been to some of the locations :)

The clumsy concussed dinosaur, funny and a dramatic but we see the sidekicks mcguffin 'plot'. Was going to give a 7 but then the story ends 5/10

Enjoyed the film, in reflection there didn't seem to be much of a plot. More a sub-plot and some character development?

I preferred the other two and Rock Dog but decent enough

I think this was very good, enjoyed the humour and the style/edginess, similar initially to Kung Fu Panda but this one grew on me.

Worst western and 3rd worst film, minimal week plot and characters never got to develop, score was mimic of Once Upon a time in the West. Excellent opening title scene though. Check out Brimstone for better vergence

I was at an advance screening with work (missed the Jumanji and Coco ones). I felt, perhaps like musicals, it is a rollercoaster of positive and negative emotions, however the flux was too frequent. The sound editing wasn't great, the lip syncing was noticeable repeatedly and the voices were too loud compared to the music. Too much fake snow (never landing on shoulders). No issues with the actors or character arcs but I think it could have been tweaked. The songs and choreography was generally a joy and the sets and era made great use of them

Following the advice of other comments on here I watched the series first. It is quite a commitment as it is around 8-9 hours of viewing before the film and THE Check. I (we) enjoyed the TV series (yes, now aware the film is a feature length run sandwich of episodes so is sort of the TV show too). The depth in the series kicks off from episode 14. I did research the show before watching, using Wikipedia and the scientific theories such as the Freudian phases. It made it compelling to know this in advance and see the it subtly appear. You can tell as you watch the episodes that the series was designed upfront and wasn't a free-flow of filling in one episode to stand independently (like, well e.g. South Park). Personally, I preferred the TV show to the finale. Having said that, I wanted to imagine I hadn't seen the series first, and within minutes there were at least 4 points which would make it unclear (enough) to properly understand, and would take a while to explain, which is tough in itself! Whilst I didn't like the "film" as much as the previous episodes, it is also needed, otherwise unanswered questions, phrases and actions would not get resolved (3 major ones are explained in the film). So, like Neon Genesis, it is a paradox, you need one to need the other, and that partially sums up the programme. I would also state that the Eva's are in a large part a MacGuffin. (I upvoted the "do not skip eps" so people are aware. Additionally it isn't hard to get all the episodes when you find the "check" :)

Great film, loved the pauses, the loops/repetition and the symbolism...and acting!

Ok, I would be ruining it to mention much that I think lets it down. Its a weak, shallow plot with INCREDIBLE animation and I was disappointedspoiler

Not a critics review but without IMDb boards (prefer here anyway) i found the bean scene deeply emotional. I saw the actor playing Daniel Blake, Dave Johns in the Manchester comedy club, he organised a charity night and was the funniest and last to perform that evening at the club. As for benefits, i am presently trying to claim and have also worked for the Government in benefits, very accurate depiction. They are not 'rude' but do not 'help'.

The film is very similar to The Chase (1994) in many places, loved both

Woody "fondles" a lot of women in his films. Feels like an abuse of power

After all the dissing and hype, boredom and fiancée nagging led us to watch it last night and pleasantly surprised (no spoiler rally, but I thought altitude sickness would affect civilians)
