Kind of funny that he made this when he was in his 70s and it has the feel of a late, reflective film of an old man...who then went on to keep making films for another 30+ years! Went unreleased until after he died, currently on Mubi.

3 part summary history of the last 25 years of poison that the Rupert Murdoch had wrought on society, particularly focused on UK operations.

Lots of high level interviews but no one really explains why he hates humanity so much to devote his life to making everyone else's lives so much worse.

A few moments of levity and hope in the third episode when it goes into his declining health.

Hi bal3x, could you remove L'esclave blanc from this list. Dreyer did some work on it, but it's not credited to him.

If you were wondering which of the new Herzog docs to watch, Lo and Behold is okay but this is the one to prioritise

essaywhu: 319 films appear on both this and Doubling, so almost a third.

(ICM Enhanced has a cross-reference function which can be used to calculate such things)

I think the Blue Jeans from 1959 should be this one instead: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0256653

My understanding is that this is the two shorts LE LION DEVENU VIEUX/The Old Lion and LE LION ET LE MOUCHERON/The Lion & the Gnat.

Not sure why they don't have individual entries. both found on The Fables of Starewicz collection.

yo Bal3x, may I suggest addition of Colossus: The Forbin Project. I think you'd like it too.. Failsafe crossbred with 2001 :)

the way the nitrate damage kicks in as the short shifts from live action to the animated section makes it seem like a deliberate transformation into Brakhage territory. disorientating!

the title sounds very noir, and some of the plot falls into a lonely place. But none of the dialogue rings true at all and it all feels like an actor's showcase on a very stilted stage. very disappointing. I should have read the comments here beforehand.
