I think calling this torture porn is a bit odd as the majority of the violence is only suggested or very low on gore.

I watched this film with a few friends and a few beers and we found it extremely entertaining - we simply couldn't wait to see what the next choice would be and were taking bets on which characters would survive. I guess if we had've watched it in a more serious mind-set we would have felt a little more empathy for the characters, but we had a really good time watching it anyway.

A juvenile little film about dance music and boners - an absolute classic with a wicked soundtrack.

Very good sense of humour, very fun film. The start of the film is the best, with Tucker and Dale completely unaware of the death going on around them. The less innocent Tucker and Dale are the less intelligent the film is.

Despite that the teen deaths are uniformly excellent and it maintains a cheesiness throughout that works as excellent satire of modern horror.

Not as good as Cabin in the Woods (though this could just be personal preference), but definitely a worthwhile flick.

Better than I expected. I came into this thinking it was going to be a pretty average horror film with a great setting (I love urban exploration so Chernobyl is a very interesting place for me). I figured that would be enough to keep me engaged, as it would probably have nice cinematography, if little else.

The film introduced a fairly large cast of characters quickly and rounded some of them out a little. There was a great surprise in a fairly early scene, just before things get scary, and it maintained a good pace throughout.

The ending was a little disappointing and sudden and the bulk of the action took place in one go, so a lot of the tension of the first 2/3rds of the film was lost. Even in the more exuberant scene the film feels understated, willing to keep the scary stuff hidden in half-light and let your imagination do the work.

In conclusion: Not massively scary but fairly tense with a solid atmosphere and great setting. Definitely worth checking out. Much better than your average horror.

Marketed as a horror - definitely not a horror. Not as bad as I expected though, although I did guess whodunnit basically at the start. Worth a look if you want a supernatural mystery drama.

I enjoyed this film - I thought the action scenes were dynamic and thrilling and the overall vibe was an interesting new take on the franchise. Also, Emma Stone is incredibly hot.

However, the tone of the film was a little bleak and clinical in places - my fiancee, as soon as the film started, remarked that it looked like batman (the Nolan trilogy) and I know exactly what she means. It also went over a lot of the same old ground as the previous films, with Uncle Ben's death playing out in a very similar manner to Toby Maguire's first Spiderman.

I would like to see what Webb can do with Amazing Spiderman 2, where he isn't constrained by being forced to do the origins story. This will hopefully allow him to do something really exciting with the whole run time.

7/10, solid action film. Not sure if better than Spiderman 2, but definitely kicks the crap out of Spiderman 3.

Hugh Jackman and Anne Hatheway both gave excellent performances and most of the rest of the cast kept up well. Crowe suited his role but his voice struggled to do the part justice. This was the first time I've seen any version of Les Miserables and I thought it was great. I don't know how much of that is because of the quality of the musical and how much is due to the quality of the adaptation though. Would very much like to see this on stage.

Very good film. Didn't blow me away like it has a lot of people but there's not a huge amount to fault here. The story with Derek and the black dude he's washing the sheets with felt a little cheesy, like something out of the Green Mile or The Shawshank Redemption, but overall the message was strong and delivered in a very stylish manner.

This was total and utter crap from start to finish. I love pretty much all Pixar films and a lot of Dreamworks creations so I'm not prejudiced against kids films about anthropomorphised and animals. This was just plain terrible.

One of Pixar's worst, which still makes it one of the best animated films around.

Excellent film. Should be compulsory viewing for anyone who has to sit on a jury.

total classic. I think I might have enjoyed this more than the original Dawn of the Dead. Great characters (although Barbara was incredibly frustrating), set all the important rules of zombies and had a great ending. I also found [spoiler] the scene with the trowel [/spoler] more disturbing than most of the incredibly explicit and violent deaths in horror today. Often less is more, and Romero used to know this.

Probably not Tarantino's best, but a ridiculously entertaining film nevertheless. It never felt too long for a second of its run time to me.

Need to read the book. This really impressed me, I can't believe I've only just seen it. This is an easy new favourite - not the best film I've ever seen, but up there with Requiem for a Dream.

Really enjoyed the first and last segment and there were cool ideas in pretty much all of the segments. Only thing that let it down was some dodgy acting in the part set in the woods and by the lake and the overarching story of the people inside the house - just didn't do anything for me.

Overall though one of the creepiest horrors I've seen in a while. Definitely gets under your skin with some of the ideas.

So many completely amazing scenes. This is the absolute ultimate gore-fest comedy horror. Love it.

This is a solid scary film, no doubt about it. Good atmosphere, a very dark story, good use of imagery, very high production and quality performances put this a step above most of the horror dross we have to put up with. Doesn't re-invent the genre, but does everything it attempts very well.

I don't understand a huge amount of it, but that doesn't stop me from loving it. Definitely starting to develop a taste for this kind of thing. Extraordinarily moving, I know it's going to stay with me for a while.
