But this is paint | No, it's holy blood | This is paint! | It's HOLY BLOOD! | You hear me crazy woman it's paint PAINT! | It's BLOOD BLOOD! | PAINT PAINT! | HOLY BLOOD! IT'S HOLY BLOOD!
Let's meditate on loneliness with this minimalist film. Watching this film feels like reading a book. Turning page after page. The narrator's voice sounds like he's reading a poem. His saddened broken voice mimic the characters' feeling. Sometimes the characters finishing the narrator's sentences. It's sad.
You've had to really drowned in loneliness to appreciate this film. And that Ryuichi Sakamoto's Solitude just heartbreaking.
I found the theme and melancholia of this film had striking resemblance with Kim Jee-woon's A Bittersweet Life. You know, the coolest guy, a brief encounter with the pretty girl, lead to bloody revenge.
Anyway what a film. If you love the music, I know I do. Go check Symmetry's Themes for an Imaginary Film. A two and a half hour instrumental project by Johnny Jewel, the original guy Winding Refn and Gosling wanted to do the score.
The kind of film I'd appreciate more for second viewing with everyone's analysis and theories in mind.
That ending though. Impulsively superb, if not stupid.
What I've learned from this film is: It's easy to be serial killer in South Korea.
This film pissed me off! This is based on actual events, mind you.
A very solid work. And it was a directorial debut, my God.
'One late autumn night, the disciple woke up crying. So the master asked the disciple, "Did you have a nightmare?"
"No. "
"Did you have a sad dream?"
"No," said the disciple. "I had a sweet dream. "
"Then why are you crying so sadly?"
The disciple answered quietly, while wiping his tears, "Because the dream I had can't come true."'
This is the saddest K-revenge flick ever. Now I get why it's titled "Dalkomhan insaeng" lit. "The Sweet Life." :(
With a title, music and lot of references to Sonic Youth (a character named Thurston?) this film ought to be Kool Thing. But what you get is this some incoherent shit you need to avoid. UNLESS, you're a fan of Kat Dennings.
Oh my, dumb characters, dumb lines, and Rihanna. I think Michael Scott wrote the script. Just slightly better than Threat Level Midnight but not as fun. Hahaha.
I love this kind of oddity. Could be boring for most though. Paul Dano's so cool on this one (I relate to his character a lot) and Zooey being Zooey, cute and shit but so full of herself (remind me of someone). Good one. And! The film closed by Animal Collective's Did You See The Words. Cool.
Boring? Ugh I've watched and loved 7 hours, black and white, nothing happened, Hungarian's Satantango. This beauty didn't come close as something that bores me.

The phrase that Black Dynamite repeats hearing from a dying child is not Chinese but actually Vietnamese for "You are full of shit.""Why, Black Dynamite, why?" Hahahaha.
