Four shorts ("Knoten," "Gewebe," "Textur" and "Geflecht") combined. I liked "Gewebe" (closeups of a woman's nude body undulating in water, plus a neat electronic score) much, much more than the other three, so it seemed a shame for it to be bundled with the rest.
The film is dated 1962, yet the soundtrack is the Beatles' "I Saw Her Standing There." Which was recorded in 1963. Still, you gotta give Jordan for jumping on the Beatles bandwagon early!
On KG. I wasn't expecting much, but this turned out to be quite good. The hook is hearing an abducted woman speaking "in code" to an emergency operator such that her captor won't realize she's calling for help.
IMDb needs some expansion here. "Out Yonder" is actually a three-part film including sections "Neighbor Boy," "Teeth" and "Chicken." Totalling about 40 minutes. It's also complete garbage. I suppose Lynch and his son had some fun making these.
This was the 153rd short I've seen from 1966, and it was thoroughly wonderful. A psychedelic look at a New York gallery opening with Edie Sedgwick, William Burroughs, Janye Mansfield, Andy Warhol and more. In case anyone happens to ask you what was the greatest year ever for short film, just say 1966.
I just can't figure out why the guy is sneaking around the neighborhood trying to steal trees. And you're going to do that, why do it in the daytime? Strange racket. :)
One of my biggest movie pet peeves is excessive narration and, boy, is this film a violator. Why have narration describing EXACTLY WHAT'S ONSCREEN? "A man with a white cane walks arm in arm
with a lady in a black dress and hat, and next to another lady." Yes, I figured that out for myself, thanks. Maddening.
Tragic, macabre, harrowing tale about the last days of a starving, freezing boy who's too thick to even learn it's dangerous to ride a horse without holding on. Surely far too intense for children. Surprising contributors include J.J. Abrams, Woody Harrelson, Gabriel Byrne, Idris Elba and Fleabag's sister.
A good ending saves an otherwise dull-ish film, where there's little suspense because the avenging hero is invincible and never has a vulnerable moment. And the dubbed Klaus Kinski is hard to swallow.
Three minutes longer than Nathan's version? Might just be a case of frame speed. For 1915, this is a damn good film. And, dare I say, eventually quite woo-woo sexy.

Shittiest concept for a short film ever. Snow listens to opera at home while panning around his stereo system in extreme close-up.Movie comment on Germ and Chemical Warfare

Exquisitely beautiful imagery (Egyptian desert, royal garb, etc.), but the film is a 20-minute fortune cookie. :)Movie comment on Out Yonder
