The constant cutting was just exhausting. No time to watch two characters cross a room, we'll just cut to them on the other side. I hate to say it, but this was a swing and a miss for me. Stunning visuals and amazing production/set design, but the thin plot left me bored and the novelty of a dystopian society just doesn't hit very hard decades later

The 106 minute runtime felt like 3 hours and while the puppets were cute/impressive, you couldn't pay me enough to watch it again.

I was actually really disappointed in this. Aside from all the beautiful costumes and set decoration, it hardly felt like an Almodóvar movie. No moments of levity, no clever plot devices, just a long, sad, anticlimactic movie.
Great movie, but make sure you watch Women on the Verge first so you can catch all the references.
Can't help but feel that a lot of the emotion in this is heavily influenced by his falling out with Carmen Maura. There were a lot of parallels that seem to mirror their situation.
Utter nonsense and some of the worst acting I've ever seen. Absolutely no world-building or explanation of magic beyond "it exists!" I thought it would be fun, but it was just excruciating
