So tense, best horror/thriller since Get Out, and it might even be better. Krasinski nailes everything here. So cool to see these comedians, such as himself and Peele, do amazing horror. There must be something with the comedic timing that they translate really well between genres.
It's pretty basic, with the tragic backstory and some forced conflicts. Anyhow, this movie succeeds at what it's trying to do: make you terrified of caves.
Starts out pretty descent, but falls flat in the last 30 minutes, which is pretty much just Rafe Spall phoning it in. Would watch Blair Witch Project 9/10 times.
Mia Farrow puts in one of the most underrated performances ever. A true horror classic, and a must see for all who thinks nowadays jump scare shit is the standard.
Guillermo Del Toro's movies always looks and sounds beautiful, this is no exception. However. It all comes down to you buying into that Sally Hawkins REALLY wants to fuck a fish man. Imagine if no one had ever seen a gorilla before, and these scientist managed to get a hold on a real clever one.
Is Anne Hathaway the least likable protagonist in a movie ever in this one? Thumbs up for an original idea, I would take it before a new Transformers movie every day a week and twice on sunday, but... this is not a good movie.
I understand I am on an island here, seems to be the only person in the world who does not love this movie. Which bums me out to be fair, really wanted to dig it. Its not bad, not at all, in fact, Dave kills it. I just couldnt help feeling James did an 100 minute long SNL skit. And the greatest scene was imo the «i did naaath»-teaser. The good news is that Franco is starting to look like a really descent director. Looking forward to more of his stuff. Not gonna go back to this one any time soon tho.
The score is amazing, so is Pattinson. He seems to be turning out alright despite his terrible career start. The movie is pretty good, some great actor achievements and exciting scenes.
This one's gonna be ignored by the academy due to their dislike for Netflix. Dont be fooled. I doubt you'll see many movies better than Mudbound this year. star performance by Jason Mitchell, best I've seen from Garrett Hedlund and support performances from Carey Mulligan, Rob Morgan and Jonathan Banks simply knocks this flick straight outta the park.
Feels like a sequel. A way more interesting story is only told in flashbacks, and I didn't care much for the present. Guess I compared it too much to the Disney version, a by far better movie. Also, coming out so close behind The Junglebook didn't do this one any favors.
The first part was a bit weird, and some of it was borderline stupid. But then it grows into a beautiful looking simple tale about being yourself. All in all good, but maybe a bit required taste.
The boy should've been nominated for best male actor in a leading role. If Quvenzhané Wallis was old enough for Beasts of the Southern Wild, there is no excuse.
This is a must see. Absolutely amazing cast and so well played.
It's good, not great. Though, this language and accent bullshit some/most Hollywood movies are pulling is awful, and has to stop. It really underestimates the audience, in my opinion.
Not the jumpscare horror movie some might expect(?). Still, it's creepy, tension building, and got some really good sequences. Some flaws in the script, and some weird character reactions, but still good.
Didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasently surprised. Actors, good. Script, good. Expression, good. Bradley Cooper shows (again) that he's more than a funnyman, he's strong in this one. Personally, I dont fancy Ryan Gosling, but that doesn't affect the movie. 5/6.
This film is utter shit. Got all the clichès in the book, the plot is predictable, the actors are uninterested and just poor, really. And the script is embarrissing. Can't figure out how they talked Kevin Spacey into this. Waste of time.
Disappointed. LotR - Return of the king is my all time favourite, and this isnt even close. What happenened to actors with make-up and masks? Real locations? The plot and action scenes are cool enough, but the rather bad CGI, and the overused Instagram philter ruins all for me. You were so preoccupied with whether or not you could, you didn't stop to think if you should.

Francis McDormands best performance ever? I think so. To be fair, everyone is good in this one. Not the best of the year, but very enjoyable.Movie comment on The Shape of Water
