Wow...people being civil with each other, showing respect, children being kind to animals ...if that's CONTROVERSIAL, then I'll have another helpin' of that zippa-Dee-do-dah goodness...
Don't get me wrong...I loved this movie-it was adorable...but did anyone else think that Charles Laughton a.k.a.The Canterville Ghost played his role exactly like the Cowardly Lion fromThe Wizard Of Oz?
I could watch this a thousand times, still have no idea what was going, and it wouldn't matter...I'd love it anyway!
...it's a movie that plays out just like an album which is why many people don't prefer it as a movie...one has to think of in terms of scenes=tracks (i.e., one of my favorite 'tracks' is the snow skiing on the Alps)
Huckleberry Humpty...that is an inside joke just for locovoco!
But for 1985, I thought the Claymation art was outstanding, loved the color scheme, and didn't even mind that I was getting hit with a Bible Story!
plus, next to John Steinbeck, William Shakespeare, and
William Saroyan....Mark Twain is my favorite writer!...and oh shoot, I almost forgot Harper Lee-but, of course, we save the best for last...
I have officially crossed the line of my typical sardonical, satirical, critical, wittical (yes, I've made up words) classic movie loving self to watch this utterly dis...
...turbingly wonderful film that made me laugh every single minute!
moral of the story: there's something good in every movie...
I would just like to say that my one-time former 'girl' friend and now just a long time friend...a one Andi Harris Hunter can be spotted in this movie right behind Liv Tyler at the 40 minute mark on the deck of the Crab Claw in St. Michael's, Maryland where part of this movie was filmed
...oh wait...what?...huh?...Richard who?....oh yeah and Richard Dreyfuss starred in this one too (I guess I can give him some credit!)
I laughed so hard...I nearly 'spit jello into a cage'!
Side note: I just hope Agatha Christie watched this, getting a good chuckle out of seeing her beloved Hercule Poirot taken out to the satire barn and saddled up for some witticism!

'I don't know why playing caddie is the best part...I never get to hit the ball'- Pamela Driscoll...In a film with such brilliant talent, I'd be remiss if I didn't tap into the obscure humor
