This movie wouldn't be all that bad if they hadn't have cut that one scene inside the amulet-thing. Look at the deleted scenes and then somehow the movie makes sense.

I can't believe it ends like that. Can't even keep its own disbelief going....

Great acting and characterization. Unfortunately, if you know the career of Jacobi from his I, Claudius days, it kind of gives it all away.

Aka Dark Eyes

You know it's bad when it has four titles...

BELIEVED TO BE PURGED from BBC archives, but there is another version of this play from 1955 starring Alec Guiness.

"Not to be confused with the 1967 TV series of the same name (also starring Patrick McGoohan), this adaptation of Bridget Boland's 1954 stage play depicts the conflict between a Cardinal (allegedly inspired by real-life Hungarian Cardinal Mindszenty) in an unnamed totalitarian state and the Interrogator who tries to force him into a public abjure of his religious convictions."--from IMDB

This is the movie that John Green uses in his Crash Course history series every time he talks about the Mongols.

Do they every actually watch their movies and then realize that it's bad? McGoohan was the only bright spot in the movie.

I hated this entire thing. I cannot understand--was it trying to be silly or serious? I don't get it...

Spot on casting for Supergirl, if you ask me--but I defy anyone to watch this movie in one sitting without falling asleep.

Good little kung fu flick.
So obvious that it stole music from Star Wars...

The first image of the sheep contrasted with the image of men going to work is absolutely brilliant.

It's all right, I guess...Karloff is good. Quite dull in spots. This should have been one of those 30s movies that was only about 45 minutes long, then it probably would have been better.

I can't see why this is so famous...
I fell asleep twice trying to get through it--had to keep rewinding.

Must watch. Absolutely spectacular movie. Great plot that actually kept me guessing a bit. Fantastic special effects, especially for 1927. This clearly influenced bunches of directors and other film-makers. Brilliant.

George Lucas influence. The number was Princess Leia's cell in Star Wars.

Just music, really. Nobody says anything of any substance even when they do speak (maybe one time with Larry Mullen Jr.). The "documentary" aspect stinks but the concert footage is great if you like U2.
