This movie spells perfection. A plot that speaks purposefully, actors who shine bright, wrapped in a dreamy San Franciscan background and tucked in by a free-spirited 70s soundtrack.
It might not have the most original concept for a film (another dysfunctional family drama), but I thought it was brilliant and compelling, and certainly better than most within its genre at conveying an authentic family dynamic. Strong performances from an inimitable cast, accompanied by picturesque country-life cinematography.
Compelling from the first minute onwards. The unfaltering chemistry between these two is amazing. I believe in quality over quantity, but this trilogy has both.
This movie is a two-hour nightmare. I felt trapped in this hell of hedonism and I wish I had not gone to the cinema to see it so I could have stopped it and never had to look at it again. I do understand the message it is trying to get across, but this was a mistake.
Contrary to popular opinion, I think I might actually like this one the most out of all Python movies. It's by far the most surrealistic, the wittiest and trippiest.
The title really does say it all. It is definitely one of those films that challenge your patience, but I felt myself unable to pull away from it at the same time. I found myself drawn to its characters, despite their many shortcomings, but with redeemable qualities as well. The plot is compelling since the first minute, and that intensity never really fades- although it does tend to weaken at the end. Then again, the last part sort of spoke for itself, and contained the strength of the film. It's a true rollercoaster ride of a film, albeit not a happy one. Don't watch it if you're looking for a feel-good movie.
I cannot believe people found this movie 'boring'. I admit to having a rather short attention span but this one had me enthralled from the very first minute. I see no flaw in it whatsoever. Totally amazing, visually stunning experience.
