Another movie which I've watched as child over and over again. But as I've watched Avatar this movie came up first in my mind when it comes to the story.
I agree, great soundtrack. But I would find it better if it wasn't based on REAL historical figure and connection to other historical figures. It would stand alone perfectly as individual without any connection to history normal AU princess with classic evil guy and etc and etc.
As a kid, I freaking loved this movie. I guess that's just the thing with kids, their ability to perceive storytelling is run by emotion, and not plot.
Movie was fine, but I was really disappointed with Valérie Lemercier character, writing or acting, she had almost non existent emotions, so bland for me, but to mine surprise she won for this movie César Awards for Best Actress – Supporting Role.
This movie was like Pedro Almodóvars self side relaxation project made for fun with low budget, funny and cheesy but if you are Pedro's fan, you will love it :D
I've read book first then I've watched adaptation, seems fine to me although it's noticeable that it's rushed, if had it had any faults I didn't them because I was mostly blinded by Rupert Penry-Jones hotness.
