Nothing new under the sun, but still managed to win me over at some point.

Creepshow has a very freaky, but festive quality to it. A great watch for the holiday season.

I used to love these books as a kid in the early '00s and thought they did a terrific job adapting the misadventures of Bert for a new generation. Very relatable and probably a fun watch even for older audiences. I really liked how even the minor characters in the film felt fleshed out and seemed to have their own things going on. If you've enjoyed Bob's Burgers and the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies, this one should be right up your alley.

It's hard out here for a small time crook.

This movie is far from perfect, but it's heaps of fun and deserves praise for trying something different. If there's ever a remake, Bill Burr would be the perfect choice for Michael Moriarty's character.

I was already hooked when the opening credits started rolling.

Plays like a prog rock concept album. At times it's one of Nic Cage's most laid back performances to date, which ironically makes this one feel more special. Also, that's got to be the most alpacas I've seen in a film.

I always suspected that she had more depth as a person than she let on.

Well, I can now certainly see what all the fuss was (and still is, I guess) about. Did not expect it to be this allegorical. Spotted just the slightest of Kubrickian and Lynchian influences here and there, but refreshingly from a female perspective that added some much needed warmth and depth to the film. Very skillfully done. A modern classic indeed.

Mediocre and clunky as hell, but still worth the watch for all the Chastain aficionados. There was some potential there for it to be a decent film, but those potential plot lines never took to fruition.

It's the "mommy porn" version of a Southern Gothic story.

What a charmer! Like a Mark Twain coming of age story set in Victorian England. More please!

Probably the most wholesome movie of 2020. Just what the doctor ordered.

I haven't seen a Disney "HD remaster" of a beloved animated film since Beauty and the Beast came out in 2017. This one actually managed to capture my interest as Disney seemed more invested for Mulan '20 to succeed, but alas.. It's just bland as usual.

Wish that we got a film worth fighting for!

They almost said the name of the movie!

At times this one felt more complicated than Tenet. A masterfully done spy thriller. Even Russian actors were brought in to play Russians and that shows you they went all in when crafting this movie. All the actors brought their 'A' game and Gary Oldman probably gave his most reserved performance to date. Something that must've required the utmost of acting skills. Mark Strong deserves a shout-out as well. He's always memorable and likable, but I cannot help but think that people still tend to forget that he's actually a better actor than he appears to be. Myself included. Top notch cinematography.

Probably need to visit this one again in the future.

I've never been there, but from what I've gathered by reading the news and observing pop culture over the years, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 really nailed the New York aspect, thus making it feel like a timeless classic. Even the minor background characters were interesting. Not to mention the lovable Walter Matthau and Jerry Stiller who always make your day just by appearing on screen.

I put off watching this one for most of my life because I knew about the ending, only to then find that it was just a cherry on top of an already delicious cake. Boy oh boy, I did not expect it to be such a fun and wild ride from start to finish!

Well that sure was something.

It's like a therapy session by way of IKEA that you have to assemble yourself. If Synecdoche, New York helped me get my shit (relatively) together, then this helped me to move on from things.

One of the most unique films of 2019. A rather adorable elderly crime thriller.
