Disappointing. Much of felt very rushed, and while a lot of it was enjoyable, there was a also a massive amount that I thought was completely unnecessary. Far too great a departure from the novel, in my opinion.
Spectacularly banal plot. Relies on the fact that ventriloquist dolls look quite spooky for all its scares. Didn't realise I was going into another James Wan film with this. I've now seen everything he's directed, and he should have stopped at Saw.

My main problem with this film is the message 'Hitler was really quite gentle' is so blatantly forced down your throat that it lost quite a lot of credibility from the very start.
