Quite honestly, this could have done with more work. It seemed like the first draft was the one they went with and they weren't too concerned with the satire or the quality. On the plus side Meryl Streep is on point.
I liked it, but then I adore Margot Robbie's Harley. Giant starfish was a bit surreal and I was on the verge of 'what the hell is this s**t.!' but then the killing started so it was okay again.. :)
Oh dear.. who went to see this thinking it was a superhero movie.?! smh No DC superheroes were used in the making of this film.
Joaquin Phoenix is outstanding as the mentally ill Arthur Fleck, whose descent into madness is both depressing and hauntingly beautiful. A stunning film, one to be seen again.
Not one of the best X-Men movies, but entertaining enough... train fight scene was pretty awesome and blowing the shit out of stuff was good, but otherwise a bit meh.! :(
The addition of Viper was totally unnecessary and the acting was a tad corny. The story was okay, but overdone, but it's still a decent film and entertaining enough.
I really liked this. Slower-tempo than I expected from a space adventure/drama movie, but it was a nice change. The action was gritty and realistic, and the abandoned child/absent father relationship was different from the usual.
Heart-warming, funny and heart-breakingly sad at the same time. I loved Laurel & Hardy as a little girl, so to see them brought to life with all their memorable characteristics and subtle quirks was lovely. The humour was refreshingly simple and so funny, I vividly remembered the boiled egg scene from my youth. The story itself was so sad, watching the end of an era from the point of view of the stars, realising people have moved on and there isn't a place for them anymore. :( Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly did an impeccable job portraying Stan & Ollie, one of my favourite films this year.
Fat Thor is awesome. Intelligent Hulk is pretty cool. Slushy, emotional scenes that go on and on are a bit much.. just get on with it for goodness sake, it's not a RomCom.
As an ending to the past eleven years of movies, it was pretty good. Tying up loose ends, hinting at future projects, and giving us a pretty cool battle scene. No post-credit scene, but a post-credit sound, if you sit and wait long enough.
Loved it... although was disappointed with the ending... just my opinion. James McAvoy was absolutely brilliant as Kevin and his multiple personalities.. he was a joy to watch, such talent. Samuel L. Jackson is always amazing and it was a shame
Mr. Glass met his end,
he had so much potential for a new super-villain series.
I started watching this, not knowing what it was about, and thought it was quite pleasant until we met the parents... then shit got weird.! The tiny hairs on the back of my neck stood to attention and stayed there. Now I like a good psychological thriller, but this was way more than that. There were times when I wished I had cushions to hide behind... this is bloody terrifying.!! What an EXCEPTIONALLY BRILLIANT movie.
Best DC movie to date. It gives Marvel a run for its money with fantastic visuals, fast paced action, a great story line and lets face it... Jason Momoa.! I went to see this purely for the eye candy, and was surprised at how good it was. Even without Jason it would have been brilliant, but he certainly adds Joie de vivre to the proceedings. 10/10 and I'd highly recommend you see this movie.
Loved it... even second time around... Story is fun, quick-paced and action packed. So many laughs. Ralph is pretty much every one of us when faced with losing a close friend. Gal Gadot as Shank... so very cool. Is there anything that lady can't do.?
For a psychological horror, this was surprisingly more like an adventure thriller.. nothing horrific, scary or gory about it. A little tense at times and twice I managed a chuckle, but that was about it.. I expected more, and not being a fan of horror films, I'm glad my expectations weren't met.! :)
One good thing you can say for this film... at least they trashed Russia this time, and the mindless, totally disproportionate destruction of land, property and lives was limited only to a smallish town. Now obviously that's because Superman was still dead for most of it..
Lots of facts and timeline events slightly askew with this, but it couldn't have been easy trying to pack all the relevant stuff into a movie that's just over 2 hours and do it the justice it deserved. Rami Malek is epic (should win a Best Actor award), at points it was eerily like watching Freddie back from the dead and I wasn't far from tears a few times. If you don't make too much out of the glossed over details, it's a brilliantly entertaining movie that comes highly recommended, with a great cast who take you where the movie wants you to go.
Confused.com. What a complete mess this story is. It's like someone really wasn't sure what to make it about, so came up with four or five different scenarios and glued them together, with a trailer for the Wonder Woman movie. Superman's a menace, a destructive pain in the butt, but then suddenly everyone loves him and he's their precious hero. smh.
Lex Luther and Lois Lane need re-casting and the ending needs to be re-written.
Indestructible alien being gets brought up on Earth, inadvertently signals his arch nemesis of his whereabouts, and proceeds to destroy Metropolis in a fist fight with said arch nemesis. That's pretty much it. That said, Henry Cavill isn't as terrible as our childhood superhero as I had at first thought. So there's that.
Despite it being messy, chaotic and very like a rollercoaster, this wasn't as bad as it had been made out to be, although I wish I'd been able to watch it without the dumbasses in the back of the cinema yapping and giggling at every tiny little thing. FML.
Tom Hardy was better as Bane, and Venom could have done with more action, a better script and a less corny sense of humour... he wasn't as badass as in the comics... Highly entertaining though and a great watch... If you see this in the cinema, keep your ass in the seat until the very end credits.! Or you'll miss a treat.
Spot ALL the pop' culture references (if you can). Fantastic representation of the best horror movie ever made... really made me wonder what was going to happen.. This is a must see.!
