I'm a huge fan of all genres, but silents and foreign (as in non-American) films will always have a special place reserved for them on my movie mantle. After learning about iCM on IMDb, I decided to join simply as a personal means of keeping up with the droves of movies I watch, as well as to chat with other like-minded individuals.

I don't view this website as a competition, as others I have come across certainly do. I've noticed that many of the users with thousands upon thousands of checks have, as I like to call it, "stuffed their ballot box" by checking every episode of every T.V. show they've ever watched. Hey if that floats your boat, more power to you, but in my eyes it's very close to cheating. My goal isn't to accumulate a large number of checks and make it to the top of any lists. I truly just want to keep a personal record and be able to keep track of the movies that I've watched. . . which is proving to be a very daunting task. Luckily, I have a notebook where I always write down the movies I watch. I've slowly been going through and trying to transfer all of them to iCM.
