    I liked the fact that you didn't need a spreadsheet to keep track of all of the characters and storylines this time. But this isn't the movie I expected.

    The trailers, the posters and even the title promised Godzilla and Kong doing kaiju stuff. But this movie is mostly about the sidekick. The main star of the franchise is barely in it, despite having first billing. Was this meant to be a Kong stand-alone? It sure feels like Godzilla was…

    A challenging look at radicalization. The film doesn't try to put the blame on the parents, the welfare system or drug abuse, but tells us that the picture is complex and not always as we see in the headlines on the news. The morphing effect on the main character's face – inspired by the media's use of the photos of three different women when reporting on the suicide bombing in Paris 2015 – is a bit jarring and uncanny valley at times.

    A delightfully silly movie with lots of laugh-out-loud slapstick moments. I found the film a bit repetative towards the end, but I will definitely introduce this to my friends.
