Once you understand that this list is made by the ratio fav/checked, its logical that the tops are movies that arent easy to be seen (i think this is what obscure means). The more easy is to see a movie, the more people will see that movie and don't take it as fav,
I have seen the top of the list: "Vamos matar, companeros", and i think its a good spaghetti movie, but (i think) "the good, the bad and the ugly" is far better.
What happens is that, because i like spaghetti westners i look foward to watch then. And sometimes i see very good SW movies that arent very popular. On the other hand, "the good, the bad and the ugly" has been seen by more people, many of them arent touched by SW the way i'm, and they wont mark it as fav, and also they wont search for others SW movies to watch.
I think most people just use the auto-favorite function when importing imdb votes so yeah you're probably only one who does that ulysses... :P
There may be cultural influences as well. For whatever reason, Asians may use the favorite function more than their Western counterparts.
What I wanted to express in my original posting, was that it might occur, that somebody watching through a rather unknown flick will mark it as favourite for other reasons than for purely liking this movie. I hope none of you takes any offense in that suggestion. I, in fact, consider myself to be subconsciously prone to this sort of behaviour.
I have no problems with the list's obscurity. I just wish it didn't feel like I was treading water; every time I check this list, I have fewer movies checked than the time before (I used to be at around 160, now I'm closer to 140). Will I eventually hit zero? Only time will tell.
