I wonder if people who moan about omissions from these lists are aware they're based on the votes at IMDb, not a curated list of critically acclaimed films. If you want something on/off, go vote it up/down on IMDb and get your mates to do the same, maybe it'll happen.
It's a 1940s drama about a man and woman who attempt insurance fraud (a crime). "Double Indemnity" is an insurance term that provides for someone to collect double their claim in special circumstances.
PeacefulAnarchy, Rashomon was adapted from two short stories Ry?nosuke Akutagawa wrote. One of them was called Rashomon and the other was called In a Grove or In the Woods.
Gentleman of Luck was pretty much unwatchable to me, but it could have been the subtitles on the version that I saw. Watch Out for the Automobile would be a top film noir if it was made in the US.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone refer to Rashomon as "In the woods," but then again I've never seen anyone refer to it as crappy either. Those two Russian films are decently enjoyable too.
