These IMDB lists are clearly useless now. I dislike the overwhelming prevalence of western cinema in top lists, but taking down good films for this kind of crap is even worse.
So with the 15/01/2014 update of this list Paths of Glory, M, and The Departed are out of this list... I really hope Gangs of Wasseypur, Sholay, The Message are up to the task.
Satantango and The Human Condition are amongst the greatest films ever made and anyone who calls himself / herself a cinema-fanatic should watch them one way or another. We need more variety in all of those lists with masterpieces around the globe!!!
I think it's really, really hard to dislike The Human Condition trilogy. Unless you have a broader problem like a distate for war films, films in b/w or Japanese cinema I'd say there's a 99% chance you're going to like/love it.
However, if one watches the first part, he/she won't want to wait for the other two installments. ;) Amazing anti-war trilogy and Satantango deserves a spot on every greatest films list, regardless of its length.

Morometii, Canim kardesim, Zügürt Aga are terrible.Satan's Tango is beautifull, I had to go to another city to watch it with a friend that had it.

I'd really like to finish this list. Only two more to go!However those two are Ningen no Joken and Satantango....
Not sure I want to sit through over 17 hours of film just to complete this list. I could watch 10 other films in that time!
