Authentic and revelatory, the interviews with Allen are him at his frankest, and the reunion of actors who all have such insight into what makes him tick is a feast of praise for the auteur.

Like watching a behind the scenes and greatest hits collection in one, this is one that Woody Allen fans should not miss.

Last hour is by far the weakest, but the first half is so essential it doesn't even matter.

A wonderful documentary capturing everything that's great about Woody Allen. I heard Weide had to cut the film down a lot so it's definitely worth looking out for the DVD as he said it'll be the whole cut.

My only disappointment was that "What's Up, Tiger Lily?" was not mentioned at all...would have been interesting to hear his contemporary take on that. Otherwise, wonderful. Offhand, I can't think of a future celebrity death that will shake me up more.
