Unlike many well regarded directors that are just pretentious as hell, Jess isn't afraid to do his own thing. During the time when filmmakers were happy making films to gain favor of the government, we was honest enough to make what he wanted and not make something he didn't want, just to please someone else.
Needless to say, one of the biggest pet peeves I have with him is when you start to notice how many times he does some long ass panning in his films. Other, more acclaimed directors, also use this technique but I don't find it any more favorable when they do it. 13 years 1 month ago -
