Interesting use of animation to cover the personal nature of the story, and an unflinching look at the journey of a refugee. I still felt there was a little bit missing though.
Could've used a couple of more millions so that the style of animation wasn't as choppy. As it is though it's still pretty endearing though I would've liked more segments that really used the genre, like the black and white parts where he feels depersonalized by the system. The story itself is heartfelt and touching. I do feel that we needed to know a bit more about present-day Amin so that the ending hit harder. I was more invested in the mother and brother (whose fate is told through title cards) than Amin's will-they-or-won't-they relationship with his future husband and country home. Maybe that's not the case for other people so please go watch it. Recommended.

Incredibly powerful film and creative mix of documentary interview and animation. A must watch for 2021.ucuruju
