The slick style and high production values, as well as good performances by attractive actors, are almost enough to obscure the fact that this is a pretty predictable, unoriginal movie with a plot that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, all things considered. 8 years 11 months ago -

I wonder how many comments here are based on the imdb rating.
The score, the camera work and acting is solid. You could argue that Will Smith has been in too many movies to make you believe he's not him, but in my opinion, he fits the part of the charismatic conman and the chemistry between Jess and Nicki does more than solidify that. Farhad and the rest of the crew fit in well too.
The plot, although predictable at times, is original enough when you consider the myriad of similarly scripted movies. It's funny, has a good pace and if you're willing, it might keep you at the edge of your seat with a couple of very suspenseful scenes.
