   Coincidentally, I happened to catch this on television only a few days after reading Lillian Hellman's 1969 autobiography (not 1973's 'Pentimento', on which this film was based).
   
   I felt I'd got to know her over the preceding weeks, although I'm not sure that I would've pictured her as a Jane Fonda! (Indeed, Judy Davis's portrayal of Hellman in 1999's Dash and Lily (which I've had to had to added to this site here!) felt more right.
   
   Nevertheless, the film is good (lots of edge-of-your-seat moments) and Vanessa Redgrave is as fantastic as usual. Nothing in the film was mentioned in the memoir I'd read, so seeing this was a real bonus. 12 years 7 months ago
