Like its predcessor, the Journals of Knud Rasmussen, Before Tomorrow is woefully under-appreciated. Of the "Nunavut trilogy" beginning with Atanarjuat, this is the most pensive and probably the darkest. It is an understated and beautiful reflection on mortality and transience; but it is also about the relationships, dreams, and culture that sustain us. I haven't seen such a universal-feeling film in a while in spite of its apparent cultural specificity. As with the other films in this loose trilogy, I can't recommend Before Tomorrow enough. 10 years 4 months ago
