I was having The Tin Drum flashbacks-- it's been a while since I've seen a movie with a more obnoxious man-child protagonist. It does have some of the most beautiful images in all of Latin-American cinema, though. Don't really know enough about Brazilian history to parse out the message, if there is any, besides how people made heroes out of immature, racist, rapist bums? I don't know. It is crazy enough to be more than worth watching so I do recommend it, I guess. 2 years 4 months ago
