first half is fun, energetic and builds nicely with several interesting threads. Philip Seymour Hoffman and William H Macy are standouts, but also accompanied by light hearted support from the likes of Alec Baldwin and Sarah Jessica Parker. for me, the second half throws that away and becomes bogged down in annoying distracting plotlines and poor acting. The writing style which is snappy doesn't have the lasting depth to sustain it. I became really fed up with this.
