I understand that this is supposed to be filmmaker's attempt at making the "villain" a bit more sympathetic while at the same time not shying away from the pretty horrible things they've done, making the justification a bit hypocritical. Still, on some level, it feels as though the filmmaker wants to make some sort of political comment, but justifying
the abduction and trafficking of children
is going to be a hard sell no matter how talented a storyteller you are.

Definitely unpredictable and uninterruptedly exciting. Beautifully shot at times. But I do not really grasp the motive for everything, something logically lacks...! :O
Well shot, with some decent atmosphere and performances, but is too slow and uninvolving, and further is undermined but a succession of twists which reatroactively cause the character's actions make no sense, and rather than shock just feel insulting.
Carefully paced and avoiding cheap thrills with some tightly controlled and atmospheric scenes, the movie works both as a mystery thriller and as a horror movie. The twists start appearing halfway and aim to make the viewer reconsider his perspective and attitude towards the preceding events, a narrative strategy that paves the way for the social subtext of the film. Overall, an unabashed intelligent film with a commanding central performance by Jessica Biel that avoids gore filled clichés in order to focus on ethical (or not) choices and dilemmas.
I heard this movie tried to capitalize off of the horror video game "Slender Man" so I went in thinking this was going to be a horror film. It's not at all what I expected and definitely not as scary as I thought it would be. I would place it as more of a thriller than horror. I won't spoil anything but if you plan on watching this one, don't expect it to be that scary.
