@Armoreska: They don't really make it clear if it's ranked, but the films are numbered, so it probably is ranked.

What about the ones that are missing from IMDb? Did you check how many of them are available?

quote:
According to the "full cast and crew" list at IMDb, at least one of the credited co-directors for the series is a woman. Thus, it is qualified to be on this list. Thanks for your interest!

If you mean Lia Sargent, she only directed the English version, so that shouldn't count imo. All of the directors of the original Japanese version are male.

@Prequel: I included Nachalo nevedomogo veka because it has 3 segments and only one of them is on Brief Encounters. For the others, I checked the runtime of whatever version is available.

La Souriante Madame Beudet: 38 min
Crin blanc: Le cheval sauvage: 39 min
My Childhood: 46 min so it shouldn't be on the list, but I included it anyway because it's on Brief Encounters. TSPDT lists it as 45 min.

@Melvelet: I haven't added it to iCM, but if you want to see the entire list of 8142 films you can download the spreadsheet from here:

@LordConker: They didn't remove the "A Taste of Spain" list. They just converted into a personal list, and then the user who originally created the list removed it.

The list is still available here: http://web.archive.org/web/20111224172652/http://www.icheckmovies.com/list/a+taste+of+spain/
And the list of sources here: http://web.archive.org/web/20100715212937/http://www.icheckmovies.com/list/sources/

@Limguela: Actually, neither I nor anyone else asked them to adopt this list. They contacted me first, and I agreed to let them adopt it.

14 people voted in the ekolay poll. A larger poll of film professionals would have produced similar results. For example, the Ankara Cinema Association list has a very similar top 10, so I think it's a fairly accurate list of Turkish film professionals' favorite films. The ekolay list also coincides more closely with the opinions of worldwide critics.

The Sinema Magazine list was voted by the public and focuses more on popular cinema, especially comedy (39/100 are comedies), and many of these comedies are difficult for non-Turkish people to appreciate, so I think the Sinema Magazine would be less interesting for non-Turkish people.

It might be a good idea to adopt both lists to please everyone, like what they did with the 2 official Russian lists (one that focuses more on critically-acclaimed films, and one that focuses more on popular films).

Thanks for the list adoptions. :)

For the next country lists, please adopt Iran and Poland. Also please consider adopting this Latin American list because other than Brazil, the rest of Latin America is still underrepresented on iCM.

@filmcave: For martial arts, the Sohu list is good.
