So so so much better than Into Darkness. Yes there's a doomsday device and another pointless villain but it actually feels like Star Trek. The crew are all just normal. No mutinies. No completely out of character things. Bones is hilarious. It's settled down and grown up (which is the underlying theme). A foundation to build on.

Hauntingly beautiful, fantastic performances. Probably not everybody's cup of tea, but I really really enjoyed it.
