I think the "academy award best movies nominee" is the want most significant because there are movies which are not accommodated in any other lists but they are in the nominees list. However, I have been waiting eagerly for the "Golden Globe" list.
Thanks for these new lists and for fixing the Top 100 Spiritually Significant Films, although that list needs to be updated as a new version just came out.
How do I find the "unofficial Facebook page, where users got to vote for the lists they wanted added to iCheckMovies (Facebook page top list vote results)"? The link above doesn't work.
When I sort my unchecked movies by number of top list entries, it doesn't seem to work, although the right number of entries is given.
(I can't explain it any better, see for yourself: http://www.icheckmovies.com/profile/unchecked/gershwin/?toplistcount)
According to the book by Dave Thomas, M*A*S*H is referring to the movie, Monty Python's Flying Circus is indeed referring to the series, and I can't preview Sweeney Todd, so I can't help there.
Except... You've included Ernst Lubitsch's movie The Patriot (1928) among the Oscar Best Picture Nominees. This movie is LOST (no copies are known to exist). It's the only Oscar nominated movie to have been lost and it was the last silent movie to be nominated for an Oscar. Including it is technically correct (it was nominated), but it means that noone can get platinum (without "cheating").

We have corrected several mistakes, with our thanks once again going to MovieDearest for supplying us with all the information. The pesky typo in the word "Cinematography" has also been corrected.
@Knaldskalle: we'll see what to do with that.
