I'd recommend giving the moderators the ability to change a personal list from "public" to "private." There are too many lists that are just "Movies I've seen," or "Movies I like." These lists are totally pointless and clutter up the website.
Hmmm, I don't know guys. I'm here since last year but I really like the things just the way they are. I think that is good if you wanna make changes, but not doing it all in once. The beta seems to be very overloaded aesthetically, I don't like that :/ I don't know. What I know for sure is that I love this site, just for you to know.
Mostly, these sound like good steps to me. I'd suggest you lean heavily on the forum that already exists in connection with this site. There you have a body of very committed and scrupulously observant fans of the site, and I think they would be the best venue for many of the forms of participation you mentioned (such as adding official lists (without wrecking the tenor of the site), helping out as tech-savvy moderators, and monitoring cheaters).
Having mods would be great, I've seen soo many spam posts that need to be deleted, being able to fix this would be great.
Whilst I can see and appreciate that the Beta site is a pimped up icheck 2.0 I prefer 2.0 as I like the simplicity of it's look, its nice and relaxing. I hope we get a classic mode option :)
I have to agree that the idea of moderators is indeed a great solution.
People like mods are dedicated, spend lots of time on the site, trully care about the site/movies.
I'm sure we can find such kinds of people and they'll improve things on here!

3. The only real thing I could recommend doing with the new beta version, is possibly inserting a "reply to" function. This way, if we're replying in the comments to a particular person, we don't have to just mention their name and have users scroll through the comments to see what we're replying to.
I really like the idea of selecting and adopting new official lists. One of the main things that I use the site for (in addition to checking movies as I see them) is that I actually use the top lists to help me decide which movies to watch. If something is on a lot of top lists, then I figure I should see it before I die! It's also great for learning about a new genre or era of film, and having more of them to choose from would be wonderful!

The only functionality I want added is how much days/hours/minutes I've spent watching all the movies I've checked. That'd be awesome, won't it?Other than that, I'm completely satisfied with the site :D
