  19. The 100 Best Movies of the 80s's icon

The 100 Best Movies of the 80s

Favs/dislikes: 12:1. I'm a devoted fan of 80's cinema and during the last five to six years I've seen around 500 - 600 of the most popular or critically acclaimed movies hailing from this decade. Due to this enjoyable movie marathon I've been given the opportunity to re-evaluate these classical movies and measured them against eachother and against modern day standards. The result is highly subjective, but keep in mind that I was/am a man aged 28-33, which to some degree influences what kind of movies I like/liked. Check out the comments section for explanations.

The Dissolve's "The 30 Best American Independent Horror Films"

Favs/dislikes: 12:0. "From independent professional producers like Roger Corman to intrepid first-timers (and sometimes only-timers) assembling a small crew and making a movie on their own terms, American independent filmmaking has a long, honorable tradition of low-budget scares. In time for Halloween and in conjunction with a month devoted to American independent horror, The Dissolve decided to determine the 30 best examples of this tradition. Some are clever, some scary, some unpredictable; most are some combination of all three. That’s what happens when a genre that values the bizarre finds filmmakers forced by limited resources to get imaginative." - Noel Murray, Keith Phipps, Nathan Rabin, Tasha Robinson, Matt Singer, Scott Tobias

  25. Top 1000 Greatest Horror films, Hidden Horror Gems, and Disturbing Films's icon

Top 1000 Greatest Horror films, Hidden Horror Gems, and Disturbing Films

Favs/dislikes: 12:0. A list of the Top 1000 horror films and/or disturbing movies of all time. After looking at a lot of lists like They Shoot Zombies Don't They and Horror, I thought about how there are films that are on the list that are amazing, yet there are so many that are terrible. So in an attempt to focus only on films that are still amazing or disturbing (but well made) and are worth seeing. Some of these films will be familiar to people and some have gone underappreciated or overlooked. Yet all will be worth your time. But be warned some are hard to watch or stomach. NOTE: I will be trying to update this list as I see new movies and it is a work in progress as I am going to complete They Shoot Zombies Don't They before I get to 1000 films.
