The poll was a hurt and heal style game which continued until just 20 films were left. The final top 20 take up the top 20 slots in this list, whilst the next 80 films are the last 80 films to be eliminated with film 21 being the last film to be eliminated, film 22 being the penultimate film to be eliminated and so on. The game started with over 1200 titles, so getting in to the final 100 is a real achievement." -

Favs/dislikes: 1:0. From site: Back in December 2006, between episodes of the U.S. premiere of OUT 1, Steven Carlson and Paul Clark sketched out an idea for some movie awards. The intent was to assemble a ragtag band of scattered cinephiles in order to recognize noteworthy achievements from the previous year in cinema, unswayed by awards-season hype. Plus we just thought it would be fun. As for the name "The Muriel Awards," it was inspired by Paul's guinea pig, who is both temperamental and endlessly curious, two traits which are common to a lot of die-hard filmgoers. Of course, few of them are as cute (see below). -

Devotees of suspense, thrillers, whodunits, and horror films will no doubt have their own solutions to such a puzzle. Stacker compiled data on all mystery movies to come up with a Stacker score—a weighted index split evenly between IMDb and Metacritic scores. To qualify, the film had to be listed as a mystery on IMDb, have a Metascore, and have at least 2,500 votes. Ties were broken by Metascore, and further ties were broken by IMDb user rating. Every movie on the list has been considered according to the history and development of mystery films."
